I've noticed a lot of frustration across the boards about lack of communication and posts. I just thought I would give my two cents on the subject. I personally like the concept behind this project and think it's very important. I want it to do well.

Just from the responses I've seen the feeling I get is this is run by (mostly) graduate research assistants and other students who have other things going on in their lives; and being in those shoes, I understand. They're probably more focused on getting WU pushed out and doing the nuts and bolts of the project. This is a non-profit and seems to be a mostly student ran project. They don't have a guy sitting on the forums 24 hours a day responding to everything written. The resources just aren't there and I think it's unfair to expect that. I think a lot of people need to cut them some slack.

With that being said, I do think a little more head-up about what is going on would be great. At least a monthly newsletter/message stating the projects being worked on now, some break-throughs, some of the scientific implications, and future goals for the coming months. If any scientific papers are published, maybe at least mention them in the news-feed section. While I understand there are resource and staff constraints, I believe most people want to know their CPU cycles aren't going to waste. They want to know if what their doing is doing any good. I think just a little communication might go a long way in suring up a good docking@home base.

Yeah, I have noticed that. Some of the important notices like GPU units or Exshitec haven't been touched in a while. It's wrong to throw it out there and not give anything for a year, lol

I will settle for a news every 4 months!!!


I honestly don't think it would take much. Just enough to inform people about what's being worked on or some progress of stated plans every couple weeks/month would be great.

I agree that admins should be more responsive and I agree with the points made above. Nothing else to add on my side.

Thanks all for the comments!

We will definitely try to communicate more effectively, right now the ExSciTecH project is in development phase. We will be very happy to keep you posted when there are big achievements such as new tools release, new papers/posters published, new scientific findings, or new presentations about the project!

We expect to have updates by the end of Spring semester when our developers (also undergraduate and graduate students) finish the development of ExSciTecH user interface.

Thanks for the comments and the support of the project, we really appreciated them!
