Hi all,

I've just signed up to Docking@Home. I signed up via BAM and that went smoothly.

However, once Docking was attached to my client and it tried to get work, I received a message saying "Charmm 34a2 is not available for my type of computer".

This is correct, according to your website, that version is only for Windows and Linux. As I'm on an (Intel) iMac, I need a different version of the application (which is available).

Any ideas what's gone wrong?

Hi Paul,

We are so sorry, the application that it is referring is our charmm application, not only the BOINC middleware. We don't have versions for Mac and it is not likely that we will have one any time soon.

I'm confused, since http://docking.cis.udel.edu/status/apps.php seems to suggest that charmm 5.08 would work fine on Macs. Can I install that rather than 34a2 somehow?

As a computational biologist I have great respect for ligand docking. It would be a shame if I had to devote my mac's spare cycles to another project.
