06.09.2008 14:42:26||Starting BOINC client version 6.2.18 for windows_x86_64 I have a problem download WU from Docking@Home for my Vista64BIT-Client. My ohter Clint Vista32 and WinXP32 are running fine. I d'ont know, why my Vista64 not running with D@H. I hope anywhere can help me. Michael |

Interesting enough, Task Manager shows Charmm34_6.15_windows_x86_64 with a *32 after the name, meaning it is a 32bit application... *LOL* why then even name it x86_64? |

Interesting enough, Task Manager shows Charmm34_6.15_windows_x86_64 with a *32 after the name, meaning it is a 32bit application... *LOL* why then even name it x86_64? Because older 64-bit clients didn't support alternative platforms, when making sure that the platform name matched what the client requested, even if it were a mere 32-bit application renamed, was necessary. Therefore, it's done in order to support legacy clients, as you can see here . HTH ____________ |
