Hello everybody,

Two of the servers have arrived and docking.cis.udel.edu has been configured with OS and is on the internal UDel network. We will open the external firewall as soon as we have restored the data on the machine and done some tests to make sure everything is still working as it should. Our test machine, docktest, has not arrived yet, but should be here next week.

We really appreciate that you guys have hung around here and are keeping the spirits up!

I just had an invalid result in my Intel iMac http://docking.utep.edu/workunit.php?wuid=26400

It appears that Wu's issued from and after 26458 have a good chance of granting credits to all machines, credits issued from and before 26456 have a good chance of NOT granting credits to all machines.

Starting with workunit 25683 we are using a fixed credit amount. For the current test workunit (1tng) this is 49.5. Please let us know how much credit/hour this comes out to on your machine. See the news for more info.

Work Unit 20240 is interesting in the credit result. My iMac and one of the MacPro's got credit. The second Mac Pro got zero. I can only see that the MacPro that got zero credit seems to have started and stopped the Charm application at least once more?

I just finished this "new" WU, 20154 and got 0 credit. I know that this WU was started and stopped a couple of times. Maybe this combined with the writing to disk was a possible reason.

Can you try to gather some more information regarding this? For example: boinc client messages (incl time stamps), etc. We have to find out where exactly the time is spent in your updates.

Also, you might want to consider switching back to a stable version of the boinc client; 5.8.0 seems to give you a lot of problems and is very beta.

Using Boinc to update the project, it seems to take several hours or days to update the project. With other Boinc projects I am communicating with, the update is immediate.


I updated to the new version 5.8.1 of the Boinc client and now it is working fine. I guess that solved the problem. I can't get it to not work today.
