Message boards : Docking@Home Science : Run out of work?

( Message 7110 )

Hi seybernetx,

I saw that you only got one workunit on May 29, and some workunits in April. Do you have multiple VC projects crunching on the same host? They may compete for resources. Or do you have certain constraints setting on Docking@Home? Such as do not run when CPU usage exceeds a certain threshold?

Thanks,
Boyu

I haven't gotten any work for these folks in a couple weeks, at least. The last News entry is from about four months ago, saying they were going down for maintenance.

What gives? Are they operational or not? Anyone know?

Dear Volunteer,

I don't see any host currently under your account, could you be more specific about the problem? For example, which workunits have the error?

Thanks,
Boyu

The changes in Boinc that was requested and I get a Computation Error when the project tries to run .A forum search at Einstein indicated that the boinc-internal processor-throtteling .

Message boards : Windows : Docking hogs BOINC

( Message 7079 )

Dear Volunteer,

In the boinc client, if you click on the Docking project, and then select Advanced -> Preferences (where you find the preferences for each project may differ depending on the client version you use), you can specify on which day, and which time of a day you would like Docking to run, switch between application every many minutes, etc.

Hope this helps!

Boyu

I run Docking@home, World Community Grid and Rosetta @home, and Docking hogs twice as much resource as the other two. How can I tune it so all three get an equal share of resources? I have to keep suspending Docking to allow the others to have a fair share.

Message boards : Number crunching : Computer requirements for D@H

Dear Volunteer,

Hope this page helps: http://docking.cis.udel.edu/join/rulespolicies.php

Thanks,
Boyu

Is there a page somewhere that explains exactly what the computer requirements are for running D@H?

And what about the wus: what are the typical run times and how much do they stress the cores and create possible temperature concerns.

Message boards : Docking@Home Science : ExSciTech??

( Message 7062 )

Yes I read the thread about charmm upgrade. It is a little complicated than just updating charmm. To use a new version of charmm, we need to change the charmm source code to remove any machine dependency and integrate it to BOINC, also we need to tests all the complexes input to make sure they don't result in computation errors with the new charmm executable. It requires more time to do, we are estimating the possibility, and advantages also challenges it may bring.

Thanks,
Boyu

Thanks for the answer!!! :-)
Another question: are you reading the treadh about charmm upgrade?[/quote]

Dear Volunteer,

Thanks for the interest! Right now the ExSciTecH project is in development phase. We will be very happy to keep you posted when there are big achievements such as new tools release, new papers/posters published, new scientific findings, or new presentations about the project!

We expect to have updates by the end of Spring semester when our developers (also undergraduate and graduate students) finish the development of ExSciTecH user interface.

Thanks for the comments and the support of the project, we really appreciated them!

Have you plan to publish exscitech to docking volunteers??

Thanks all for the comments!

We will definitely try to communicate more effectively, right now the ExSciTecH project is in development phase. Message boards : Number crunching : Database purge ?

( Message 7035 )
Posted 1637 days ago by Boyu Zhang
It should be fixed now. We purge the database regularly, the reason that the result did not get removed if because that the "client state" of that result was "uploading" for some reason, so the database purger did not remove it.

But it should be removed now.

Thanks!
Boyu

When, if ever, does the database get purged of old results ?
I have no hosts running this project any more, but there is one result (returned over 12 months ago) that is preventing me from removing the one host still listed under "My Computers".
