Message boards : Docking@Home Science : Compilers and Lanugages ( Message 666 )Posted 3968 days ago by moebicat Thanks! This is just the answer I was looking for! Uh... sorry, I didn't know which forum to post this question. Which forum did this question belong in? Is there something in particular you are curious about? Well, yes. This is probably not the correct forum for this question either, but... Where can I find more information about volunteering programming skills for projects such as this or other BOINC science projects? I am wowfully ignorant of ways to help these project beyond letting my computer crunch away in their non-working hours or the proper channels to ask about projects looking for help with software (ya know, fixing bugs). Thank you for taking the time and effort to have forums to answer questions from the curious. |

Message boards : Number crunching : Output file exceeds size limit. ( Message 482 )Posted 3977 days ago by moebicat Changed all the max_nbytes from 1000000 to 10000000 in file sched_request_docking.utep.edu.xml, yet I still the same error message. Phew! That is good news. I do need to go to school on the internals of BOINC. Haven't seen this problem since I reset the project. The Intel Mac Mini and Intel Mac Pro are crunching away on Docking@Home work units, in their copious spare time. |

Message boards : Docking@Home Science : Compilers and Lanugages ( Message 446 )Posted 3977 days ago by moebicat What compilers are used by Docking@Home for Intel Mac, Windows and Linux? What programming languages are used each of the components of this project? |

Message boards : Number crunching : Output file exceeds size limit. ( Message 286 )Posted 3980 days ago by moebicat Changed all the max_nbytes from 1000000 to 10000000 in file sched_request_docking.utep.edu.xml, yet I still the same error message. Doh! Will do! I wonder how many things that brilliant move broke. |

Message boards : Number crunching : Can't rename state file: Error -1 ( Message 285 )Posted 3980 days ago by moebicat Perhaps something to do with your changes in wrong file "sched_request_docking.utep.edu.xml"? Hope you can set it all back. Good point. I changed it back. Success, no more "unable to rename file" error. But, I am wary of magical thinking and fools who change random files in applications they don't understand. (That fool would be me.) Still have "file to large" problem. In the end, the goliath Intel Xeon Mac Pro can crunch Docking@Home data sets, but can't report the results. However, the tiny Intel Core Duo Mini Mac crunches away without a care in the world. Sigh... |

Of course, if I see this again I will follow the suggestion and "reset the project". Anyone else see rename errors? Other than resetting the project, is there some corrective action that I should take? |

Message boards : Number crunching : Output file exceeds size limit. ( Message 276 )Posted 3980 days ago by moebicat Thanks. I'll up the value of max_nbytes for the Docking@home project. Odd, this was only an issue with the Mac Pro. The Mac Mini worked fine with the original value. |
